Radio Peace is a Community Radio Station registered with the Registrar Generals Department, Ghana as a Company Limited by Guarantee. It is non-profit, non-sectarian and non-partisan.

The Station is the premier grassroots community radio in the Central Region of Ghana. It is situated in Winneba, about 80km west of Cape Coast, the regional capital and 65km west of Accra, the national capital.

It is assisting marginalised and deprived communities reduce superstition, ignorance and illiteracy, disease poverty and conflict, and to give voice to the voiceless thus empowering the vulnerable and deepening democracy.

The Vision of the Station is to be a centre of excellence for community broadcasting, broadcast training and research, and seeing marginalised communities enjoying a more fulfiling life.

Activity

13 February was World Radio Day, it was a day to celebrate radio as a medium; to improve international cooperation between broadcasters; and to encourage major networks and community radio alike to promote access to information, freedom of expression and gender equality over the airwaves.

Kwesi Ghartey-Tagoe, the Station Manager at Radio Peace and also the Chairman of the Executive Council of the Ghana Community Radio Network (GCRN) was on the AM Show on JOYNEWS and he spoke to Roland Walker. Enjoy the conversation
